Bill
Carver (The Sheriff)
Our
Faire Sheriff is portrayed by Bill Carver, a local Asatru priest and
medieval reenactor. During the day, Bill fights a never-ending battle
to educate Norfolk's schoolchildren. On weekends or time off, he is
most likely swordfighting, practicing an ancestral religion or reading
and writing. Bill is 43 years old, the loving husband of Shelia and the
proud father of Corwyn Carver (perhaps to be a deputies' assistant this
year!). He is greatly amused at a role where he gets
to play The Corrupt Sheriff, having loved Robin Hood movies for more
years than the others mentioned. A shy and retiring fellow, he also
enjoys the opportunity to run around and herald loudly, arrest the
innocent and invent terrible crimes that defy any sort of reasonable
codex.

Suzy-Ray-Vaughn
www.myspace.com/suzyrayvaughnband
Suzy-Ray-Vaughn
is a three-piece acoustic/electric band consisting of Suzy Doyer on
bass guitar, lead and harmony vocals; Ray Bruce on lead guitar,
keyboards, flute, bass, lead and harmony vocals; and Vaughn Deel on
rhythm guitar and lead vocals. They have played together locally for
about 8 years at various venues in the Tidewater area as well as local
festivals. The music played by Suzy-Ray-Vaughn can best be described as
"Americana," in that they play many musical forms from blues to
bluegrass, with some folk, rock, alternative country and others thrown
in for good measure. Songs included in the play list are original as
well as their distinctive versions of cover tunes. As Vaughn is often
heard to say, "These songs have touched me in some way and I'd like to
be able to touch others with them. Especially that guy at the back
table that won't shut up. Think ashtray up side his head." If you come
away from a Suzy-Ray-Vaughn show hearing something you've never heard
before, then you've gotten the point they are trying to put across.
